Water and sewage system development project of two islands contracted to an Indian company.

An Indian company has been contracted with developing water and sewage systems of Lh.Naifaru and Th.Veymandoo. The Indian company is LE Triveni JV.

Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim signed the agreement on behalf of the ministry while Viney Sree Kumar Singh a director of LE Triveni JV signed on behalf of the company. Under this project a sewage network, sewage treatment plant, water network and a storage plant will be developed in Naifaru.

In Veymandoo, a sewage network, a sewage treatment plant and an administrative building will be developed. The project is being conducted with assistance from IDB and OPEC Fund for International Development.

The total cost of the project is 148,902,816.92 Rufiyaa. The project should be completed within 18 months from the day the contract was signed.
