Eid Prayers have been performed in large congregation in Maafanu stadium. The whole area allocated for prayers was full.

The prayer was led by the Imaam of Islamic Center Sheikh Muhammad Latheef. After the prayers many people shook hands with Sheikh Latheef and former Islamic minister Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed. Most people went to the prayers with their family.

Some people who went late prayed on the street ahead of the Imaam. However according to religious scholars praying ahead of the Imaam will be invalid. This happens every year and it should be stopped.

In addition to Male’ Eid Prayer were performed in large congregations all over the Maldives including Addu, Fuvahmulah & Thinadhoo.
