PPM has requested PPM parliamentarians who signed parliament speaker Maseeh’s impeachment motion to withdraw their signatures.

A letter signed by PPM’s Deputy Secretory General Iqbal Adam states that the signature of the parliament members contradicts with the article 38 of the party’s condition. The letter further requested to withdraw the signatures before 12:00 am tonight and to inform the party after doing so.

While 10 MPs from PPM signed the impeachment motion one of them has withdrawn the signature. However the rest of the parliament members have stated that they will not withdraw the signature. Even though they requested the party to remove them from the party, PPM has refused to do so.

Supreme Court has issued a verdict last week saying that if any member leaves their parties or is expelled from the party, the member will lose the parliament seat.
