JP leader Qasim Ibrahim’s family has called the government to allow Qasim to leave the country for treatment.

In a statement released by Qasim’s family, they stated Qasim faced a sudden illness and was taken to Medica because it was the nearest medical institution. The statement revealed in detail about how the doctors advised him to take seek treatment abroad and how he was denied leaving the country because immigration held his passport.

Qasim’s family expressed concerned to the fact that he has not been allowed to leave the country to seek medical attention he desperately needs. Qasim’s family requested the government to treat Qasim humanely and asked the government to release his passport. In addition, the statement called the government to stop treating Qasim in an unlawful manner.

Qasim’s family’s statement also noted that Qasim has been treating for specific illnesses for a long time.
