Deputy Leader of AP, Ali Zahir and MP for Henveyru Central Constituency Ali Azim has been arrested by the police. Ali Zahir was arrested near MDP clubhouse and Ali Azim was arrested from the MDP rally.

People who gathered near MDP clubhouse said that a recovery commission should be formed to recover the rights and money which has been lost into corruption. They said that as the first act of the commission they should reinstate the right to assembly freely.

Police prevented the protestors from taking to the streets by confronting them. The sudden confrontation resulted in some people getting injured.

Police used pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
