Opposition files a censure motion against the Attorney General.

Opposition members have filed a censure motion against the Attorney General for the second time. They submitted the motion with signatures from 30 members according Ahmed Mahloof the MP for Galolhu south constituency.

Recently the Supreme Court issued a verdict which states that the Supreme Court will have the final say regarding no confidence motions against cabinet members even if the parliament passes it.

Previously the opposition filed a censure motion against the AG on 20th July. At that time the motion was submitted with signatures from 24 members. However, they filed the motion referring to article 82 of the constitution which refers to no confidence motions against the President and the Vice President. Hence at that time the parliament dismissed the motion.
