Former Home Minister Umar Naseer have said that disagreeing with President Yameen is not a reason to be in jail.

On a Facebook post, Umar said that the challenges faced by President Yameen within the parliament cannot be solved by jailing the parliament members or by not holding the parliament session.

In addition Umar called to release the 4 PPM members who are in jail now and asked to drop the charges against them. He said that MP Mohammed Ameeth, MP Mohammed Waheed, MP Faaris Maumoon, and MP Saud Hussein are all people who made huge sacrifices for PPM. He said that they also sacrificed a lot to make sure that President Yameen wins the election.

Umar called the PG and the government to drop the charges against them. He said that if the president wants to silence the opposition the best tool would be to be just and a just ruler will not lose anything.
