It is not clear whether the government decided not to give permission for JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim to extend his stay in Singapore for his medical treatment. Miadhu News has learned that rfamily members of Qasim Ibrahim are communicating with the government.

If the government refuses to give permission Qasim must return to Maldives without completing his surgery and hence he would not get any treatment. Since Qasim has serious coronary diseases it is for sure that, heart procedures cannot be completed within 10 days.

The government gave permission for Qasim Ibrahim to leave abroad so that he can under go surgeries which were also recommended by the doctors in Maldives. Hence it is unlikely that the government will prevent Qasim from undergoing the surgeries.

Previously Home Minister Azleen said that the government gives special attention to Qasim Ibrahim’s medical problems. He said that President Yameen himself monitors Qasim’s situation closely.
