Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Ahmed Shareef have said that they are conducting research to see how much electric load Addu City will require and they are planning to invest 30 million dollars to expand the services in Addu.
Speaking at the government oversight committee of the parliament, Shareef said that electricity is being provided to 4 islands of Addu through one powerhouse which has 11 generators.
He said that that generators can generate 6.5 megawatts of electricity, but if needed it can generate more.
In addition, Shareef said that they are planning to develop a new power house and to increase 12.5 megawatt. He also said that they are talking with financial institutions to get the 30 million dollars needed for that.
