Government submits a record budget of 27.9 billion Rufiyaa

Government has submitted a record budget of 27.9 billion Rufiyaa to the parliament today.
Addressing the parliament floor after submitting the budget Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar said that next year’s budget will be beneficial for the people. He said that even though next year’s budget is huge, there are ways to increase the state revenue.
The minister said that the government plans to sell sukook next year. He said that the state debt is now 60 percent of the GDP and it increased because of the infrastructure development projects conducted across the nation.
The minister noted that 234 million Rufiyaa has been included in the budget to increase the salaries of civil servants.
