Deputy Leader of JP, Ameen Ibrahim have said that there will be a day where the members of the Elections Commission are charged for identity theft.

He said that the EC has removed many members of JP from the party’s registry and added them to another party. He said that this is identity theft.

“Even now we have evidence to take these matters to court, but it will not show any results. However times will change and will get our day in court” said Ameen.

Ameen said that in addition some JP members who were nominated by JP for government positions also changed their parties for various reasons now and hence they lost many members as per the records at the EC’s office.

Ameen said that even if their members are “stolen” JP members have strong determination and it cannot be changed. He said that if the party takes a stance regarding the elections then the members will follow the party’s decision and vote based on that. He said that this can be seen from the elections of 2008, 2013 and 2014.

In addition he said that JP had influence in the parliament and even in 2014 many members got elected with JP ticket. He said that everyone knows how that changed. Ameen said that JP has various challenges in getting new members and the main challenge is that Qasim Ibrahim is being intimidated by the government.

Ameen said that no matter what EC records say, JP has the most number of people for a single party.
