The debate in next year’s presidential election will be based on democracy and autocracy: AK

Deputy Leader of JP, Abdullah Kamaaludheen have said that next year’s presidential election debate will be based on democracy and autocracy.

Speaking at a gathering held by the opposition in F.Magoodhoo, he said that the topic would be whether people will allow a minority group of people to enforce their will upon the majority or the people empowering themselves to execute their will.

“Should we allow current establishment to intimidate us politically or should we get the chance to develop the country peacefully” questioned Abdullah Kamaaludheen.

“Should NGOs be paralyzed and left that way, or should we provide them the chance to voice their opinions” said Kamaaluhdheen.

He said that some more topics that will be debated includes democratizing our economy or allowing it to demise. He said that everyone should think about these things and should vote based on these things.
