Hithadhoo dhekunu constituency MP Ali Nizar has said that some members are insincere for the party they represent and are taking advantage of their posts.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily, he said that some members are so insincere that they switch parties through bribes.

Nizar said that opponent parties offer large amounts of money for members to switch parties. He said that only those members who are not sincere and honest to the people will come.

“The law is giving this opportunity to change parties. It is good to make a law against this. It will be a very good thing for a country as small as Maldives,” he said.

Nizar said that sincerity of all the members are very important in case they want to pass a law that forbids switching of parties.

He said that the people did not look at the manifesto when they gave their votes. He said that the people only voted for the leaders.
