The stocks in Fun Island Resorts were taken from Royal Island Resort, in accordance with the law. Previously customs invalidated the alcohol import permit given to Fun Island Resort.

According to the legal team of Villa Group, Customs cannot confiscate goods like this within the territory of Maldives. Even now Fun Island Resort has the permit to sell alcohol. Lawyers of Villa Group say that hence, Customs cannot confiscate goods like this without a court order.

It is expected that Customs will seize alcohol stocks in Paradise Island Resort, Holiday Island Resort and Sun Island Resort. These 3 islands also have permit to sell alcohol.
