Economic Ministry has revoked the liquor and pork import permit given to Royal Island Resort.

The lawyer of Villa Group, Hisaan Hussein said that according to Economic Ministry, the permit was revoked because Royal Island Resort was selling alcohol and pork illegally.

“However Customs says that, Villa Group took the stocks in bonded warehouse to other resorts instead of taking it to Royal. Hence, what these two institutions say do not match. Royal Island Resort or any other resort of Villa has not done anything illegal” said Hisaan.

Hisaan said that they are planning to take the matter to the court.
