MP for Galolhu Dhekunu constituency, Ahmed Mahloof have said that even if the price of electricity is reduced, he will not vote for President Yameen.
He tweeted today saying that, Maldivians today are well aware and hence the government should stop ridiculing the people by reducing the price of electricity when it is time for the elections.
Speaking to the press today, Environment Minister Thoriq said that starting from March, all households in the country will be charged the same rate as Male’ up to 400 units. In addition to electricity, government also decided to charge the same rates as Male’ for water as well. He said that this change will be visible starting from February.
Government brought these changes during a time when there has been complaints about the huge differences in the price of utility services in Male’ and within the atolls.
