JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that it is the responsibility of MNDF to provide protection to the Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and other justices of the Supreme Court and that they were arrested because the military could not provide them security.

He said that hence the Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam should take responsibility and resign.

Qasim Ibrahim tweeted with this regard during a time when MNDF is under heavy criticism for their role in hijacking the parliament and the Supreme Court. Qasim Ibrahim has always supported the development of the security services and the judiciary in the past.
