Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Moosa Manik have said that just because Maldives is small, foreign countries should not try to scare Maldives and reminded that Maldivians fought and won against the Portuguese as well.

Speaking at the Rumaalu2 campaign center of PPM last night Moosa said that PPM will do whatever it takes to protect the rights of Maldivians and that foreigners should not worry about it.

Meanwhile, the government of India issued a statement saying that they hope Maldives will not extend the state of emergency and implement the Supreme Court order of 1st February. Moosa asked whether if there is anything going on the Maldives that justifies sending warships to Maldives. Meanwhile, some medias reported that Chinese warships are active in the Indian ocean, near Maldives. However Indian defense ministry stated that the warships are nowhere near Maldives.

Moosa said that they could not get the quorum for the parliament because of the opposition and he said that those who did not take part in the vote should be arrested and investigated.
