Ooredoo launches first Self Care App in Dhivehi Language.

Ooredoo has launched the first self-care app which is available in Dhivehi language as part of its continuous efforts to provide inclusive and accessible services through increasing localised digital content.

Ooredoo launched the Dhivehi version of My Ooredoo App in partnership with Dhivehibahuge Ekedamee at a special ceremony held this evening, as both organisations celebrate their anniversaries in August. The event was attended by the Minister of Home Affairs, Honourable AzleenAhmed, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, Najib Khan and the President of Dhivehibahuge Ekedamee, Ashraf Ali.


Chief Executive Officer, Najib Khan said:“As the role of digital technologies become more and more significant, it is of crucial importance to develop content in local languages. It’s a proud moment for our company as we launch the Dhivehi version of My Ooredoo App, with the aim to make services more accessible and easier to use across local communities throughout the Maldives. We are grateful for our close partners at Dhivehibahuge Ekedamee for their wonderful support towards this important initiative.”

My Ooredoo App is designed to give customers direct access to manage their Ooredoo accounts from their smart phones whenever they want, from wherever they may be. The App allows customers to:

• Check account balance, usage and billed amount
• Activate add-ons and Value Added Services
• View and pay Ooredoo bills
• Recharge / Raastas prepaid accounts
• Redeem Vedhun points
• Create, manage and gift customised add-ons through Magey Plan
• Activate a range of services, like free numbers, and Reethi Tunes
• Have access to and enjoy ongoing promotions and offers
Ooredoo hopes to extend the convenience of its self-care app to more customers, by enabling customers to enjoy the entire experience in Dhivehi. The updated version of My Ooredoo App is now available for Android users on Google Playstore, while IOS users will soon be able to download it from the App Store.
Ooredoo will continue to collaborate with local partners and developers to promote localised digital content, as part of its efforts to support a Digital Maldives.
