President of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives, Hassan Lutfy have stated that they are using the resources at their disposal and are trying their best to stop corruption.

Hassan Lutfy said this on a statement issued on the occasion of international anti-corruption day. In the statement published in a quarterly magazine by ACC, Lutfy states that there are many loopholes in the legislations needed to prove corruption and hence it is important to solve those issues.

In addition, statistics regarding the corruption cases investigated by the commission was included in Lutfy’s statement. Lutfy said that corruption hinders national stability, economic development, and in general a happy life and also it hinders national development. He said that it is the responsibility of all state organs to stop corruption and to stop actions which leads to corruption.
