Ibrahim Ahmed Nasir has been appointed as the head of Financial Intelligence Unit of Maldives Monetary Authority. 

Ibrahim Ahmed Nasir held senior positions at Maldives Stock Exchange and Maldives Security Depositary in the past. 

He was appointed to the position after the former head of FIU Abdullah Ashraf was reassigned to another position.

FIU is a unit that operates within MMA but operates in an independent manner. The unit was formed after the ratification of the anti-money laundering and terrorism financing act.
