Lawyers of former President Yameen has appealed the Criminal Court to detain the former President until his trial is over. 

Yesterday the Criminal Court ordered to detain him until the trial is over in the money laundering case against him. 

Abdullah Siyaz, a member of the former President’s legal team confirmed that they have appealed the order at the High Court of the Maldives.

At the moment former President Yameen is being detained at Maafushi Detention Center.
