Elections Commission has given the permission to begin the process of forming Maldives Reform Movement. 

In a ceremony held today at the Elections Commission, the President of the EC, Ahmed Shareef officially granted the permission. 

Within three months the party will have to get 3000 signatures to be officially registered as a party. MRM is a party which is being formed by supporters of former President Maumoon. 

During the 2018 presidential campaign, supporters of former President Maumoon formed a movement called Maumoon Reform Movement. After the Supreme Court decided to recognize PPM’s extraordinary congress, former President Maumoon and his supporters decided to form a new party.
