Maldives has won three awards in the World Travel Awards.

Maldives won the awards in the Africa and Indian Ocean category. 

Maldives won the Indian Oceans’s leading destination award, Indian Ocean’s leading dive destination award and Indian Ocean’s Leading beach destination award.

World Travel Awards is the most prestigious award given in the tourism and travel sector. 

Maldives won these awards by contesting with countries such as Mauritius and Seychelles. 

In 2018, 1.4 million tourists visited Maldives. The awards won by Maldives shows how popular Maldives is among tourists.
