European Investment Bank has lent 50 million dollars to the Maldives.

The loan will be used on renewable energy projects in the Maldives. Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer signed the loan agreement on behalf of the government while Andrew Macdawel the Vice President of EIB signed on behalf of the bank. 

The bank lent 45 million dollars to Maldives in 2016 as well.
