Male’ City Council has decided to ban vehicles in Male’ on the afternoon of 27th July. 

According to the city council, the council made this decision as the Independence Day celebrations including parades by the MNDF and bands of schools will be held on that day.

A statement by the council states that since elderly people, children and families will be on the streets, the council decided to ban vehicles for the safety of everyone. 

Starting from 1530 hours till 1830 hours vehicles will be banned in Male’ on 27th July.
