Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC has stated that they have finished the feasibility report required to introduce minibus services to Male’ and that they have submitted it to Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. 

Speaking to PSM, MTCC’s public relations officer Ali Zain said that the report has been submitted to transport ministry now. He said that they will use electronic minibuses which are environment friendly and that they will be charged in Hulhumale’. 

Zain said that they will use minibuses which accommodates 16 passengers as the streets of Male’ are very narrow. He said that MTCC hopes to begin the services within the year and that they are now working with all relevant stakeholders. 

The government contracted MTCC with providing minibus services in Male’ on 6th February.
