Indian grants USD 1.07 million to MNDF to develop a training center

Government of India has donated USD 1.07 million to Maldives National Defence Force to complete the phase 1 of the composite training center of MNDF at Lh.Maafilaafushi. 

In a ceremony held at the headquarters of MNDF, the Indian Ambassador to Maldives Sanjay Sudir handed over a nominal cheque to Defence Minister Mariya Didi. 

The composite training center is being developing with the assistance of India. The development of the training center will be conducted in three phases. In the first phase a training center, administrative block, three accommodation barracks, firing shed, firing range, health post, obstacle belt, two recreation building, and sewage system will be developed. 

Once the center is completed, it will be the primary training center of MNDF. 

The ceremony was attended by Indian Ambassador to Maldives Sanjey Sudir, Defence Minister Mariya Didi, Chief of Defence Force Major General Shamal, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier Abduh Raheem Abdul Latheef, Indian Defence Attache to Maldives Captain Prashan Handu and other senior officers of MNDF.
