Maldives Correctional Service has decided to take action against the officers who tortured and attacked inmates on 20th June. 

The service also decided to remove the suspension on the commander of ESG. 

A statement issued by the service states that the review committee of the institution has reviewed the case and found that the officers used unnecessary force in that situation. The committee has now sent the case to the disciplinary board of Maldives Correctional Service.

In addition, the statement states that the disciplinary board found that there is no reason to suspend the commander of ESG and hence has lifted the suspension.
