Records published by the Traffic Management Department of Maldives Police Service shows that 50 street accidents occurred in Male’ last week. 

A total of 15 people were injured to varying degrees in these accidents. In addition 250 vehicles were given parking tickets and 43 vehicles were towed. In addition 220 vehicles were searched to see whether they were complying with traffic regulations. 

Furthermore, Police investigated two cases of minors operating vehicles and investigated 13 people for not respecting traffic signs. Additionally 66 people were investigated for driving without a license and 55 people were investigated for speeding.

Meanwhile, driving license of 5 people were withheld due to accidents and 109 people were investigated for driving without a license.
