President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih has stated that 35,000 jobs will be created from the tourism sector within his term. He said that Maldivians will benefit from it only when Maldivians are trained for these jobs and he highlighted the importance of developing human resources. 

The president made this statement while speaking at the event held to launch the 5 year master plan of the tourism industry. 

The president said that the tourism industry will be transformed into a sustainable industry under this plan. He said that the amount of money individuals directly get will increase once the plan is implemented. 

He also noted that the government is doing a lot of work to advertise Maldives in the international markets and that they have allocated a huge budget for that.
