Male’ City Council has met with the ambassadors of some countries. According to an official, the councilors met with ambassadors from Japan, India and the United Kingdom. 

The meetings were led by Mayor of Male’ City Shifa Mohammed. The first meeting was held with British Ambassador to the Maldives James Dauris. In the meeting held with James Dauris, the mayor discussed on ways to strengthen the local governance system of Maldives. The ambassador assured the mayor that the UK will assist Maldives in this field. 

The City Council also met with the Japanese ambassador to Maldives. In the meeting the ambassador shared information about the assistance Japan plans to provide to the Maldives.
