Minister Aslam will be this year’s Ameerul Hajj of Maldives

President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih has appointed planning minister Mohammed Aslam as the head of the Maldivian pilgrims who will go to Mecca to perform this year’s hajj. 

It has been a tradition of Maldives to appoint a senior government official as head of the Maldivian delegation every year.  This year around 1900 Maldivians will go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. 

The first group of pilgrims left Maldives on 21st of July. Pilgrims will be leaving Maldives until 5th August. Pilgrims and their families are being provided free bus services to the airport. 

This year 6 private groups and Hajj Corporation will be taking people to Hajj.
