Maldives Transporting and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun providing ferry services to two atolls. 

MTCC began providing ferry service to Meemu Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll. Ferry services will be available in these islands three days a week. In addition, ferry services to Faafu Atoll will begin this week. MTCC has now published the schedules of the ferries on their website. 

Ferry services to these three atolls were previously provided by Vermillion. However the company has stopped providing the service and as a result MTCC had to take over.
