Maldives Police Service has taken action against 9 taxis which violated the rules. 

Last week the Transport Authority of Maldives revealed the prices taxis can charge in male’ area. Police did not reveal the exact nature of the rules broken by taxis.

Meanwhile 6 taxis were fined for overcharging the passengers. The new price for a ride within Male’ is MVR 25 and a ride between Male’ and Hulhumale’ should not exceed MVR 75.
