Value of items imported into Maldives in July 2019 has decreased by 9% compared to July 2018 according to statistics released by Maldives Customs Service. 

According to Customs in July 2018 goods worth MVR 4.1 billion was imported while this year the value of all imported items was MVR 3.7 billion.

In addition value of exported items also decreased by 16% compared to July 2018. 

Most of the imports to Maldives are from UAE. UAE shares 21% of all goods imported to Maldives while 13% were imported from China and Singapore. In addition 11% of the goods were imported from India.
