Maldives Police Service has stated that tonight MPS and MNDF were active at Velana International Airport on a training exercise. 

According to police the purpose of the exercise is to see the readiness of the security forces to work together. They stated that there was no real threat at the airport tonight. 

Even though the exercise is being conducted at the airport starting from 1930 hours, the airport operations are going on as usual.
