The next hearing of President Yameen’s case in the money laundering charges against him will be held on 3rd September. In today’s hearing, the court has finished taking witness testimonies from the witnesses submitted by the state. 

In today’s hearing, the state submitted three witnesses. They are President of ACC, Muavviz Rasheed, former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb and former MD of MMPRC Abdullah Ziyath. 

Both Abdullah Ziyath and Ahmed Adheeb stated that they committed illegal acts upon the order of President Yameen.

Speaking at the hearing Ziyath said that the cheques that should be received by MMPRC were given to other companies based on the instructions given by President Yameen. 

President Yamee asked whether he is accepting that he committed crimes and he stated that he does accept and that is why he is still serving a sentence.
