Parliament votes out Supreme Court Justice Didi

Parliament of the Maldives has voted to remove Supreme Court Justice Abdullah Didi.

A total of 72 members out of the 75 members present in the parliament floor voted in favor of removing him. After the vote the speaker of the parliament announced that Abdullah Didi has been removed from the Supreme Court bench. 

Speaking at the parliament today some members noted that a criminal investigation must be opened on him and that he should be punished for his crimes. Some MPs stated that they wish to see him in a jail cell. 

Abdullah Didi was suspected of taking bribes and taking part in organized crime. 

He is living abroad at the moment.
