Maldives Correctional Service has changed former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb to house arrest after putting a surveillance tag on him.

He was changed to house arrest on 28th August. Until then he was at the hospital after he collapsed while he was inside the jail cell.

Maldives Correctional Service did not reveal any details of Adheeb’s transfer to house arrest. On last Thursday he was summoned to the court to testify against former President Yameen in the money laundering trial against him. Testifying at the court he said that there is chance that he might be harmed while he is in prison.

In that trial he said that he conducted various unlawful activities and alleged that he was acting under the orders of former President Yameen.
