The fire which broke out in Male’ last night is one of the largest fires in the history of Maldives. Many lost their houses and it claimed one life. 

The financial losses due to the fire are estimated to be in millions. At least 5 buildings were completely burnt down. 

Late last night it started raining heavily and that helped in controlling the fire. However the streets of Male’ were flooded as a result. 

People received messages from the National Disaster Management Authority warning that there might be floods and asking to take precautionary measures. 

When such incidents happen, as Muslims we have to think about it. We have to thank Allah for all the blessings we have and realize how helpless we are. We have to obey Allah and try to live our life as commanded by Allah.
