Civil Court orders to handover the land leased to New Port to operate a restaurant

Civil Court of the Maldives has ordered Strada Private Limited the parent company of New Port Restaurant to vacate the land where the restaurant is developed and also to pay 1.1 million Rufiyaa to the planning ministry. 

The verdict by the civil court stated that the agreement made between New Port and the government as been terminated by the government on 6th March and it was terminated because New Port failed to pay the rent as stated in the agreement. 

The court ordered to hand over the land and vacate the premises within 15 days and pay a total of 1,149,271 to the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority within 30 days.
