Home Minister Imran Abdullah has stated that MP Muizzu talked about the fire incident in Male’ based on an assumption that it was a terrorist attack.

Speaking at a press conference held by the minister today, he said that he has requested parliament members not to make such statements based on assumptions.

Maldives Police Service stated today that so far there is no evidence which shows that the fire was started intentionally. In addition police stated that the fire in T-Jetty started from a cigarette butt. 

Some parliament members speaking at the parliament tried to blame the fire incidents on religious scholars. In addition the speaker also stated the parliament regulations does not emphasize on speaking the truth in the parliament.
