Chinese tourists are among the top visitors to 5 Asia pacific countries. They are Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan and Singapore. 

According to Master Card, in addition to these 5 countries, Chinese tourists are among top three in 82 countries. 

Hence if Maldivian resorts try to target Chinese tourists it will possible to increase the occupancy rate of resorts with tourists from China alone. 

In the last 7 years most tourists to Maldives were from China. In the recent visit of Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid to China he invited Chinese investors to invest in Maldives.
