In a ceremony held at Republic Square today, 21 ambulances donated by the government of Japan has been handed over to the health ministry of Maldives.

Japanese Ambassador to Maldives H.E Keiko Yanai handed over the ambulances to the health ministry on behalf of the government of Japan. Health Minister Abdullah Ameen accepted the ambulances on behalf of Maldives.

The 21 ambulances cost 1.4 million dollars in total.

Japan has always helped the Maldives in various areas including education, infrastructure development and the health sector.
