The revenue collected by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority MIRA in September has decreased by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2018.

According to statistics published by MIRA, a total of 1.2 billion Rufiyaa was collected in the month of September. However this is a decrease of 3.2% compared to the previous period and a 13% decrease compared to what MIRA expected to collect in September.

The largest share of the revenue collected by MIRA is September was the goods and services tax followed by the tourism land rent. In addition business profit tax also contributed a sizeable amount of revenue in September.

According to MIRA the revenue collected in September decreased because some parties did not submit taxes and revenues on time.
