Maldives Police Service has arrested three people for threatening a police officer. According to a media official of MPS, they have arrested three people from Fuvahmulah for threatening a police officer.

They were arrested with a court warrant. The three people are aged 19, 25 and 31. Maldives Police Service is now investigating the case and no further detail of the case has been revealed. So far four people has been arrested from Fuvahmulah this week for threatening police officers. 

Last week someone was arrested from Fuvahmulah for threatening Shahindha Ismail who wrote a report advocating to remove important Islamic concepts from Islamic text books in the Maldives.

People around the country has been protesting and calling to Ban Maldivian Democracy Network after the report came to light.
