Maldives Police Service has taken a statement from Fisheries Minister Zaha Waheed regarding the MMPRC corruption.

Speaking to the media, she stated that last Thursday she was summoned to Maldives Police Service and that she has given a statement to the police regarding the matter. Police has however not revealed officially that the minister was summoned to the police. 

In a press conference held last week, Maldives Police Service revealed that senior officials of the government, and parliament members have received the embezzled funds from MMPRC. 

According to Police Service many parliament members from the 18th Majlis took the embezzled funds at it was used for various purposes by them.
