Judicial Service Commission of the Maldives has begun investigating Justice Hailam the chief judge of the Criminal Court of Maldives.

He is being investigated after he shared a cartoon where national hero Hussain Adam is seen pulling a group of people bounded by a chain. Among the people in the cartoon includes President Solih and speaker of the parliament Mohammed Nasheed.

In the parliament session held today many MDP MPs called to remove the judge from the bench immediately. 

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court has scheduled the final hearing of the money laundering case against former President Yameen. Chief Judge Hailam is the sole judge presiding over the case. 

MDP members alleged that the judge is biased and that the judge will issue a sentence in favour of President Yameen.
