Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E Zhang Lizhong has stated that China will provide training, technical support and setup of natural enemy labs to combat pests.

Today the ambassador tweeted saying that experts from China released 1 million parasitic wasps and 300,000 Tetrastichus brontispaes, which are natural enemies of coconut leaf pests. The experts released these natural enemies after conducting a 10 days survey of coconut leaf pests in Laamu Atoll, Baa Atoll and Haa Dhaal Atol. 

The government of China has always assisted Maldives in various areas. In recent times China has increased their assistance to Maldives. Just last year a bridge developed by China connecting two major cities of Maldives was officially inaugurated.
